Liam's Surgery Update #3

Thank-you Lord Jesus for today. My heart is overcome with gratitude. I have just come from ICU and seeing Liam. He is settled in quite nicely and is already off oxygen. He talked to us and has visited briefly with Grandma Cheryl, Grandpa Gerry, Uncle Brandon, Nathalie & Auntie Glenna. He is still very sleepy but he is looking good. The surgery itself went very well. Liam did not have to have any blood transfusions and he is already showing signs of strength in his left hand side. Dr. Singh was not able to get all of the tumour but they still feel that it is not cancerous. Liam will have another MRI tomorrow to help determine with the pathology report if more treatment will be required. Please continue to pray for Liam. We ask that you pray for a peaceful night for him, for the drain that they have placed in his brain to be able to be removed as soon as possible, for continued strengthening of his left hand side and for rest. There are three other children in the critical care unit with Liam. Pray for these little ones and their families. Pray that we would be able to shine the hope of Christ throughout our time with them. We will try to post again tomorrow.

  1. Dear Liam and family,

    I praise God for giving you all much grace and mercy. God is good and he does good! Thank you for the post as it helps us know how to pray. I will pray for continued healing and for a peaceful sleep. I will also pray for those things that you have mentioned and thank God for his kindness and for being with the doctors as they performed the surgery.

    Love in Christ, David (from the Challies church)

    We only recently found out about Liam, but since we have known we have been praying for him and for you all. You were such precious friends to us and I am sorry that you have had to go through all this. But we have been encouraged too by your faith and peace. Wow, God is so gracious and compassionate. I still often recall your songs Jason- especially the one that said 'sometimes, I forget to look up...'. I pray that through all the busyness, stress, and fatigue that you both, Liam and the other children will see those 'stars' and be encouraged by the great and powerful God that you serve. May you all sleep well and feel refreshed in the morning. Love you, Rebecca & Chris Roth

  10. Hi Liam! We haven't met but I have heard lots about you from my friends at the Oakville Sanctuary and I have been praying for you today! What a cool dude you are, if only I could have been so on top of things at your age... I hope I get to meet you and your family one of these days up in Milton! I'm praying that you have a great rest tonight and that the rest of your stay in the hospital is a breeze. You are awesome!

  18. Dear Jason, Kimberly and Liam;
    God is still at work and it's awesome to know that you are trusting and believing in His provision daily. We haven't talked to you guys in awhile but I've read and know about your struggles with Liam but also the encouragement of hearing you cry out to Our LORD and how He's heard you. You're in our prayers! Danny and Sherri Compton, Paducah, KY.(you stayed at our son's house in October, 2004)

  20. I popped in this morning to read about Liam's progress but didn't have time to leave a comment. I came back tonight to let you know that I'm still praying and I am so delighted to hear that Liam is doing so well.

    Our church met together last night for prayer and we prayed for Liam. I shall add the other children to my prayers.
